REPLACING MUXTAPE
Muxtape, a site that once allowed users to share what is the equivalent of mixtapes online, was shut down recently due to an RIAA copyright infringement lawsuit. Favtap is its most recent replacement, offering a better interface and user experience than Muxtape. In order to avoid any additional lawsuits Favtape is using SeeqPod a site that indexes music across the web but never hosts them. Favetape only provides links to these files, so theoretically it’s harder to be targeted for lawsuits. That being said, I’m happy Favtape was able to tackle the copyright infringement issue, so it can allow users to mix it up with their favorite songs.
Other sites that allow you to create mixtapes online include 8tracks, Songza, Snuzu, and Streamzy.
