This sounds an awful lot like “Advice, Like Youth, Probably Just Wasted on the Young” (better known as “Wear Sunscreen”) by Mary Schmich. It was published in the Chicago Tribune in 1997 as the graduation speech Schmich would give if she were ever asked to give one. You can read it here.
So … I’m doubting the legitimacy of this.
